My art is available for purchase in the form of prints, posters, and commissions.
On occasion, I offer custom art commissions. My availability varies based on the types of projects in queue. Commissions can range from a private sale to freelance work, to commercial or temporary jobs. Every commission I conduct is a separate and unique process that I treat on an individual basis.
Private commissions are the most frequent types that I conduct- original character designs, portraits, and rpg character groups are examples of this. Private commissions are when the art is to be sold to the buyer for personal use. That is, the work is not to be resold, but copies can be made to be shared among others. I retain all rights to the art in a private commission, though if the work is requested to be used for display or personal use, that is allowed. Rights to the art may be purchased additionally.
Commercial/publicized (non-private) commissions are something that is treated differently, because the purpose of the art is different. Usually, the art is to be used commercially, in a form of media design (packaging, layout work, mascot design), and has the potential to be resold. Typically speaking, because the work may be reused and resold, the cost of this process is higher. To compensate for copyright sales (in which I give up all rights to the art), I give the option of selling the work at exactly twice its original value. The only times in which I've done this are for small businesses or projects in which the work is not used for private purposes.
Typically, I hesitate listing commission costs, because each project is very specific, and costs may fluctuate- they may be lower or higher than what is listed in the range I offer on this table. This guide is based on the commissions I normally conduct, so this list provides a typical range.
Shipping and handling on most artwork ranges from $5.95-25.95. This is dependent on the size of the artwork and the medium in which it was completed, which can affect the way the art is packaged and shipped.
Factors that contribute to commission costs: amount of detail requested, b/w or color, number of characters, background, size of the image. The only real way for me to be able to gauge how much your piece will cost is by knowing what is required of the project. Only then will I be able to provide you with an accurate estimate.
Each project is unique. For lower end values, please expect a shoulder portrait with little to minor background (color work) or for full-body drawings, simple sketches. Larger pictures and pieces requiring more detail, which in turn require much more time and are priced accordingly.
Ebony/Charcoal/Pencil Sketch- $55-75
Pen and Ink/Lineart- $55-85
Colored Pencils/Markers/Watercolor/Acrylics- $75-250
Computer Art/Painter/Photoshop- $85-400
I will work in almost any size. The largest commissions I've done go up to 24x36, but if you want an even larger picture, it's certainly possible! If completed digitally, the only extra cost is for printing; anything above an image at 11x17 is outsourced to a print shop. For paintings that are larger, contact me. These will certainly take more time to complete.
